The Mammoth Site is hosting several activities to celebrate this year's National Fossil Day. Current plans include a 'Prehistoric Antique' Road Show where Dr. Larry Agenbroad will identify your rocks and fossils, an Atlatl Throwing Experience class (weather permitting), tooth casting or similar educational offering, a lecture by our visiting scientist, Dr
. Evgeny Maschenko plus our 'Ice Age' Art Contest.
We challenge you to submit an entry for the Ice Age Art Contest. Entries must be original; hand produced and follow the "Ice Age" theme, with a maximum size of 9" x 12". There are no restrictions on the type of media used; it's an opportunity to be creative. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded in four categories: Pre-school, Grades K-5, Grades 6-12 and Adult, age 18 and older. A 'Best of Show' ribbon will also be given. Voting will be done by visitors to the Mammoth Site.
Artwork must be received by noon, Monday, October 2, 2012. Voting begins at 9am, October 2 and goes through 1pm on National Fossil Day, October 17.
